Here they are..... Bert & Ernie

My absolute highlight as the dogspotter for my trip to Newcastle has to be the delight of meeting Bert & Ernie. Whilst walking Toby, granny Joyce's hound, I could hear rather loud and excitable barking. As I looked out into the snowy distance I could see not one but two shaggy dogs bounding towards me. You can imagine my sheer delight. Bert & Ernie are the kinds of dog I dream about, playful, furry with endless energy. Mr. Bert, as his owner referred to him, simply is the spitting image of Boot from the Perishers and Ernie ( the black shaggy ) is a rescued dog, he has now found his true home after being rejected by others before. WHO could do such a thing!
I have taken so many shots I am going to post them over to posts. Enjoy and Merry Christmas. The Dogspotter x

Supermarket dogs

As the title suggests - these old timers were spotted being very patient waiting for owners and sausages outside the local supermarket.

British and Proud

hi hound lovers, a very quick dogspotter post. I am up in snowy Newcastle visiting family, where my lovely sister-in-law spotted this delightful hound on the local high-street. What a looker. British bulldog and proud. We love him. Thanks sis x
Coming very soon Burt and Ernie. NOT TO BE MISSED!

My favourite of the Jackson family

Sunday was the manic rush of central London Christmas shopping. To take a breather I popped in to my favourite coffee house in Soho - Fernandez+ Wells (attached is an image of the wonderful flat whites they make). On this visit there was an added bonus, aside from the slice of yummy cake, there was Jackson. A charming character that had been so well behaved that I, the dogspotter, did not spot him sitting patiently under the table bench. I came to learn that Jackson is a bit of a pro when it comes to sitting for photographers. He was recently captured by none other than Martin Parr, a rather reknowned photographer. I think he noticed that I was some what of an amateur in comparison, as Jackson was not in the mood to pose today, hence my shots are a little blurred around the edges.

Henry the Great.

Henry the great blue dane.
Now, I have to confess that I spotted Henry via the net and as of yet not had the personal pleasure of meeting snout to snout. I spotted Henry whilst viewing http://www.sawdays.co.uk/ where I like to peruse possible delightful places to stay around the UK. It's a great site if you are looking for smaller inns and B&B's. Anyway, the reason I was so taken by this remarkable hound is that he has he's own blog and also keeps his fans up to date via his twitter page. This very handsome dane has the pleasure of living at http://thesomersetarms.wordpress.com/, which looks like a rather comfortable place to reside. I am hoping for a little trip there myself in the New Year. Check out this rather cosy place for a weekend away or just pop in to visit Henry sometime. You can follow all his antics by clicking on the site.

D Factor

Who needs Jedward when you can have Jaffle - that's Jude and Waffle to those not in the know. Brothers and buddies, these two go everywhere together. Here spotted in West Brompton but their favourite haunt is Holland Park where all the up and coming stars like to run and sniff. Look out for their number one Christmas hit, D Factor far better then the letter X.
